Team
Zach Salloum Application
My name is Zach Salloum. I am 16 years old and Big White is my home
mountain, although I do travel to other ski resorts throughout the
Interior. I am a huge supporter of Fresh Air, and I would love to be
even more involved with the shop through sponsorship. I did not film a
lot this past season because I was mainly focusing on having a good time
with friends and enjoying skiing for what it is. I love the sport. I
have loved it since I first slide down the hill when I was 2 years old.
But this year I plan on cracking down and getting more filming in. Last
year I was on the Big White Freestyle Team but I felt like it held me
back so I could not let out my full potential. So this year, along with
everyone else on the team from last year, are not doing it this year and
I will focus more on filming and progressing my skills in the park and
out on the mountain! My good friend and I are both purchasing the new
Gopro Hero 2 and we are planning out our season before there is even
snow on the ground! Already this season I have done urban at least 4
times and I plan on doing it 2+ times a week once there is snow on the
ground. Unfortunately I was not able to film these last 4 sessions but I
have some photos for your enjoyment.
I'll be honest, I may not have the biggest bag of tricks like members on your online team but I am very dedicated to the sport and Fresh Air. I feel that you would highly benefit from having me on your team, not just as a local skier but as an positive and kind individual in the community. I plan on progressing a lot more this year, not just on skis but overall health and fitness and as a person as well. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, I am currently registered in a Ski Conditioning Program at the H2O Centre, I attend tramps with friends at least once a week, and I try to fit in urban as much as possible. I also worked construction full-time over the summer for DesJardin Contracting LTD, and I am currently employed part-time by R & R Exteriors.
Last season I managed to get exactly 60 days of skiing in, excluding pre-season and post season. This season my goal is to get 75. I'll will be attending every rail jam that I can, and travelling to as many competitions as I can! My friends and I will be dropping edits at least every 2 weeks, plus I ski a lot with Jesse and Jaxon who I believe are already on the team.
As I said before I would love to be part of a team that loves the same sport as much as I do, and I hope you will let me bring my dedication and positive energy to this team.

Evan Berg Application
Age: 19
Nickname: Kevan
Birthplace: Hamilton, New Zealand
Home Mountain: Silver Star Mountain, BC
Currently Residing: North Vancouver
Riding Since: Age 9
I started freestyle skiing when I was 13 years old, and moved up to the Silver Star Freestyle Competitive team at 14. After a few years developing my skills with the Silver Star Freestyle Club I made my way onto the BC Park & Pipe team at the age of 17. I competed and trained all over Canada with the BC Team for 2 years. I am now attending post-secondary school in North Vancouver and will be representing Fresh Air while freeskiing & coaching at Whistler/Blackcomb, Silver Star & Big White this coming season.
Jayme Gordon Application
My name is Jayme Gordon. I'm from Ontario and currently a student at
UBCO. I just started skiing at Christmas. BOOM. Where can I pick up the
passes?
I know this sounds cliché, but skiing really is my passion. I moved to
Kelowna last September to live close to a ski resort and never looked
back. Last season I hit fifty days on-hill, and I'm looking to raise
that number this year. I take skiing seriously, but if the team is
having a bad day, I'm not afraid to nut myself on a high rail to
brighten the mood. I'm looking to try doubles this season, and if I hear
the calling, maybe even move to a ski resort full-time. I hope you give
me a chance to rep your shop, I promise I won't let you down.
Cheers,
Jayme Gordon
Aidan Gay Application
My name is Aidan Gay, I am 14 years old, I was born in kelowna and I
attend okanagan mission secondary. I have been skiing at bigwhite for
the last twelve years and I have never gotten tired of it. For years
freshair has been my go to ski shop because of the excellent service and
quality product. I try to get the most out of every ski season as
possible, going up to the hill every weeknd and holiday. I Usually
average around sixty days a season including competions. For the last
two years I have been on the Bigwhite freestyle team and my skiing has
really progressed. This summer i also attended momentum ski camps where
I feel my skiing really progressed. Over the week that I spent there, I
learned how to cork seven and also some new rail tricks. This year I am
hoping to take my freestyle skiing to next level, I think that being on
the fresh air team would help me get to that next level. But it's not
all about what you can do for me, it's what i can do for you. By being
granted a spot on the freshair team I would represent the company to the
best of my ability, always representing what your company stands for in
a positive way. I would do this by making several edits showcasing what
your company has to offerand advertising Freshair in every way i can.
Here is some filming from late 2010 and early 2011, sorry i couldn't get
any newer footage.
Thank you for your time
- Aidan Gay
Sean Bonnett Application
Hey, my name is Sean Bonnett, I am an 18 year old guy who pretty much
thinks about skiing 24/7.
This season I am living on campus at UBCO so I will be a BigWhite a
ton, and I'm planning to do even more skiing than ever. I have competed
in B.C. series for the past two years where I have had top ten finishes
in big air, moguls and slopestyle and a podium finish in big air as
well. I enjoy every aspect of skiing from park to pow to urban and I
like to push myself on the hill every day. I basically have a fun time
skiing no matter what 'type' of skiing you want to say it is...whether
it's training for competitions, or filming, or just messing around on
the hill with friends I'll have a smile on my face the whole time.
This year I plan on hitting up a few different hills and competitions,
and getting a bunch more urban done too so I would be a good fit for the
team to spread the word and promote you guys! Plus since I'm living on
campus I can spread the word about Fresh Air around like wildfire to all
the new skiers here in the area! I didn't get much filming done in the
past two years due to some injuries so for my video I have some shots
from the past two seasons combined, hope you guys like what you see
because I would love to be on your team this season!
Jaxon Jurome Application
Hunter Visser Application
Last season I landed some pretty good results such as, 1st in the AFP
Halfpipe finals Qualifier in Whistler and took 20th in finals, 2nd place
Canadian Sr. Nationals Halfpipe at Moonstone Ontario. I am Currently
ranked 62nd in overall AFP World Halfpipe rankings. I have been on on
the provincial halfpipe team for three years now and am currently ranked
1st in the province for Park/Pipe.
This season my plans are to go to Breckenridge, Co for a month in
November/December to train and compete in the Dew Tour Qualifier and the
Grand Prix at Copper. After Breckenridge I will be traveling the Canada
and the US hitting AFP and NorAM level events such as the Aspen Open and
the AFP Finals in Whistler.
Kira Byers Application
Hey. My name is Kira Byers and yeah, I’m a girl. I’ve been skiing since I could walk, and I’ve always been trying to keep up with the boys. I’ve always had a passion for skiing, however that passion grew exponentially last year because I finally lived close to a mountain with such versatile terrain. I’m originally from Victoria B.C., so the closest mountain was several hours away and before last season, I averaged about 5 skiing days a season. Those were tough times. Last year though, after coming out to Kelowna for school (but let’s be honest, it was because Big White was so close), I was able to really get into the skiing scene.
I’m constantly pushing myself to get better and improve all aspects of my riding. I especially want to step up the female park game. I get pretty stoked when I land the same or tougher tricks then the guys I ski with, and I’m constantly motivated to improve to reach the level that guys ski at, but it frustrates me that I’m one of the only girls ripping up the park.
If I were able to get onto the FreshAir ski team, it would show that girls can actually shred pretty hard and could generate some hype for female skiing, and hopefully encourage more chick skiers to drop into the park. This season I plan on expanding my bag of tricks, getting into as many comps as possible and continue to pursuit my passion for skiing. Thanks FreshAir.
Malcolm Eaton Application
Hello FreshAir. My name is Malcolm Eaton, and I like to ski. I ski all the time. Like ALLLLL the time. One time I went skiing in July! And I saw Tanner Hall. I personally believe that seeing Tanner Hall in person is reason enough to sponsor me. But just in case you don’t agree I have this sweet video of some of my stuff from the last couple years.
The next question you’re going to ask is why me? Why do you want a 19-year-old microbiology student on your ski team? He’s good at microscopes not skiing right? Wrong! The reason it would be a good choice is because I think that I am a well-rounded skier. I dig the park but when there’s pow in town the backcountry is where you’ll find me.
If you want someone who’s truly passionate about the sport then here’s your man. I have been skiing since the tender age of two and it has been my passion for as long as I can remember. In the 09/10 season I was on the Southern Alberta Freestyle team and earned a third place finish in the Alberta provincial big air competition. I have done many other small comps and rail jams with good results. I also worked in a ski tech shop in Calgary where I was exposed to a tight knit group of people sharing the love of all things snow. I would love to be part of an atmosphere like that again in my new hometown.
This years season I hope to take doubles learned on trampolines to the park and step up my skiing to a new level. I will be filming with my friends at Big White, Revy and Silverstar and cramming in as much urban as I can in Calgary over the breaks with 403 Media. Thanks for your time, Malcolm Eaton.
Ian Feil Application
My name is Ian Feil and I am seventeen years old. I have been skiing for 15 years. My local hill is Big White, although I also love skiing Revelstoke and occasionally Silver Star.
This summer I went up to Whistler for a full week of Camp of Champions, sounds great right? At camp I was greeted with a small, dirty, unsanitary room, and within four days I got sick. I wasn’t going to let this stupid sickness get the better of me, so I toughed it out and skied. The weather defined “pea soup” all week long, and I learned almost no new tricks except for rodeo sevens, but that wasn’t the point. I had the greatest time ever. I was privileged enough to meet some amazing new people and ski one of the best terrain parks in the world. To me, that is what is so great about skiing. Traveling, meeting new people and having a great time.
I am currently employed by Zellers, and worked there all summer. I also started volunteering at the Kelowna General Hospital to get more involved in the community. While I wasn’t working or volunteering, I stayed in shape by golfing and working out.
This ski season I am going to ski every day like it’s my last. I plan on competing in whatever competitions come up. Last year I competed in two rail jams, receiving third place in one of them.
Why would you want to sponsor me? I bring a fun positive energy to everyone I ski with. This will be my last year skiing before I leave for school, and being a part of a shop I have supported all my life would be an honour. I try to be a great role model to the younger kids at the mountain. If it’s teaching them a new trick, or simply just talking to them, it’s a position I can relate to and I know how exciting it is when someone you look up to gets stoked on something you do.
I have been a long time supporter of Fresh Air, and would be a proud representative of your shops. I love having a good time, no matter who I’m with. I ski every weekend, Saturday and Sunday. I will be doing a lot of filming this season with my GoPro camera and my friends Nikon D7000. My friends and I will be dropping numerous edits throughout the season, showcasing our latest travels, tricks and humorous events. We share these edits on Facebook and Newschoolers.com, a site with over 10,000 freeskiers.
Jesse Manlove Application
Hey,
My name is Jessie Manlove. I am fourteen years old living in Kelowna, B.C. Canada. skiing is my passion! I improved a ton this past year and I think im ready to take the next step. Getting sponsored and getting a little bit of support for the next ski season. I would represent your company in a very positive manor, and advertise it as much as I can. I would make edits regularly and always put your logo in, as well as be shredding your product in it. I will attach some photos as my laptop is still not working with the video on it. I would love to be a part of the Fresh Air Team!
Thanks alot for your time,
Jessie
Jordan Walker Application
I'm Jordan Walker, I'm sixteen years old, and I love skiing. I ride at bigwhite mainly, live in Kelowna and average close to 60 days of skiing every season. This past winter I came second place in one of the Bigwhite rail jams. I have intentions on competing more this season, and I hope to have some more good finishes. I'm always riding with a big group of friends messing around and having a good time. I think I could do a great job promoting the store this season and would love to get on this team.
