The Power of Movement

Since the inception of this revolutionary brand, Asics’ purpose has been to help people achieve a sound, balanced, and healthy mindset, leading to a sound body, too. Their founder recognized that the movement was a powerful tool in lifting spirits, spreading positivity, and helping communities move forward. 75 years later, this foundational belief is what keeps Asics going strong in producing quality running shoes and athletic wear.

A Sound Earth For a Sound Mind & Body

Born in 1949, Asics’ purpose was to help people achieve a sound mind in a sound body, but to ensure success in this belief; they realized the necessity of a sound earth to enable movement. Through their operations, Asics took on the responsibility of ensuring their production processes were environmentally friendly via reduced carbon emissions, usage of recycled materials, and conscious resource consumption—all to preserve the power of movement on this planet we call home.

Asics introduced its new carbon footprint label as part of its continued efforts to reduce carbon emissions. To empower Asics wearers to make rational decisions that benefit their minds, bodies, and the planet, Asics also tracks and shares the carbon footprint of its running shoes and other sportswear products.

Equality in Motion

Asics strongly believes that everyone should be able to exercise, reaping the positive physical and mental benefits of daily movement. However, after their State of Mind Index research in 2022, they realized that this core belief was not everyone’s reality. Asics uncovered a vast gender exercise gap, with women exercising significantly less than men.

Their team then wanted to form a thorough understanding of what’s causing this exercise inequality and what can be done to bridge the gap. As a result, Asics decided to ask people to share their perspectives and experiences for a well-rounded understanding of the matter, guided by the fact that united they could move every mind.

Backed By Science, Built For You

The Asics design philosophy rests on four pillars: user testing, science, innovation, and sustainability. These give Asics the foundation needed to create sports gear that helps everyone truly live their best lives while feeling great, no matter their ability or physical activity.
