Mountain Biking at Predator Ridge: Early Open, New Trails, Exciting E-Bike Rentals

The mountain bike season is starting early at Predator Ridge. Trails open on Friday, April 12, thanks to a fast snow melt, meaning people can get out and enjoy the new mountain bike trails quicker than usual.

“We're higher up, so we usually see it later, but we had a quick snow melt, and everything has dried up really nicely,” says Carmen Lindsay, Director of Recreation.

“They're looking really good, and we're just excited to open them for the public.”

New mountain bike trails at Predator Ridge

The new season brings with it some exciting new trails.

Jungle Gym Jumps is a first-of-its-kind from Predator Ridge. It’s a black diamond, 305 metre, downhill-only dedicated jump trail with an easy pedal back to the start so you can lap and practice your jumps all day.

“We haven't really done any flowy jump trails before, so that will be a first, and we’re very excited for people to try it out,” says Carmen.

The Rock Garden Playground area has received a facelift with some new lines and ways to link zones together. Rock-to-wood roll-away features, rock drops, slabs, and rock spine skinnies make for endless riding in a compact area.

Check out the trails and follow them up with a view at the latest Predator Ridge eatery, the Range Lounge + Grill which has a great patio!

The Rail Trail: Expanded Shuttle Times

This year, Predator Ridge is offering two different departure times for the Rail trail shuttle so you can enjoy the ride without stressing about getting from point to point.

“We've been offering the shuttle every year since the trail opened, but every year, the demand has grown and grown,” Carmen says.

The Okanagan Rail Trail is a 48.5 km route that follows a discontinued rail corridor and passes 27 kms of lakefront from Coldstream to Lake Country.

“We drop you at the beginning of the trail, and you don't have to worry. We'll pick you up at the end. You can sit back and relax, and we'll take you.”

It’s easy to see why the trail is so popular. The grade and surface are gentle, making it a manageable ride for all levels. You can stop along the way to take breaks, eat, and swim.

“It's just such a beautiful ride, and to get access down to Kalamalka Lake and be right beside it is incredible,” says Carmen. “It's an awesome place whether you want to be a tourist in your town or if you have guests coming to visit.”

The shuttle opens on May 3, 2024. Learn more or book online.
