Breaking the Mold: A New Adventure with Cargo Bikes & Upcoming Events in Kelowna!

Hey everyone, hope you've been enjoying the incredible weather! Whether you’ve had some beach time or just soaking up the sun, it's been fantastic. We decided this summer to break the mold a little and try something different as a family. We got ourselves a cargo bike to take the kids to school and explore more of Kelowna off the beaten path.

As someone who's always followed my direct route to work and stores, stepping out of that routine has been eye-opening. I’ve got to admit, I’m a creature of habit. But now, with the kids in summer camp at Greenbay on the west side, we decided to bike instead of drive. Despite it being the hottest week of the summer, the e-bike ride was surprisingly comfortable. It’s about a 35 km round trip, and it’s become a fun family adventure—especially when we get the truckers to honk at us while crossing the bridge. We've discovered hidden trails, new beaches, and even made memories along the way. It's been a great way to break from routine and enjoy Kelowna in a new way.

Speaking of great events, the Across the Lake Swim is coming up this weekend, and if you're participating, make sure you swing by our store for package pickup on Thursday and Friday. Also, a shoutout to everyone braving the heat in Penticton for the Okanagan Granfondo. It's such a fun event, and though I’m missing it this year, I hope everyone had a blast and stayed hydrated!
